Apologies: Charlie, Carry, Ray, Dan,
Present: Jeremy, Joe, Ian, Tim, Hampo, Pete, Ames, Tom
Club Long-term sustainability:
Jeremy opened the meeting with a non agenda item which was disussed first (so
that Joe could join the discussion as he had to leave at 6.30pm). Concerns were
raised that the club training nights were being held together by just a few people and
that this had these consequences;
- The same people could not be expected to turn up week after week, just not fair
- The same person delivering the training week after week could let the training
become the same - Different training levels could not be given at the same time by one person so
those wanting more advanced training were held back
So it was agreed that two Rotas would be posted in Whats App one for the seniors
(Tim to do this) and one for nippers (Ames to do this) these rotas would work on the
following basis; - People volunteering fill in themselves what they can do hopefully twice a
month - Two columns one qualified one helper (both needed!)
- If you have offered help and cant attend it is your responsibility to arrange a
deputy. For a busy training night it was said the ideal number of trainers was two qualified
and two not qualified for seniors.
Training Assessors
It was agreed that priority should be given to working on the signing off as TA’s for
Tom, Ames and ElainTreasures report;
•Accounts are a works in progress.
•Charlie’s asked for approx budget running costs for year… from memory Ian
created a great spreadsheet on this that was in circulation while back. Ian – do u still
have this?
•balance is £9722.12 with nothing notable in/out. Confirmed that the car park has
been paid £750 again for the container for a year. (Part arrears)
Nippers and juniors admin
been working ok… but issues again with justgo website
difficulties paying for both club and GB. Ppl have been paying direct and we’ve
fudged the back end dates in software.
Nippers and juniors swim
new joiners I’ve just asked for written confirmation that
their kid can swim 50m. As far as I’m aware, we have nothing on record for any of
the other kids? Do we need something official/documented? Thanks given to Dan for preparing this no discussion on this
Extra Nippers rash vests
It was agreed to order a further 10 numbered rash vests for the nippers
St Mawgan Feast day
It was highlighted that the club really should support this as much as possible to
show thanks to the support we receive
Nippers sponsored swim
Ames is in the process of booking a pool so the nippers can do a sponsored swim to
raise club funds this was both supported and welcomed as great idea!
Clubhouse update
Nothing substantial to report
Club Equipment
It was raised that one of the boards has a protruding screw which could well be a
H&S issue, Hampo as the equipment officer had not been told. It was agreed that a
cork board would be purchased and located in the container with clear instructions
that any damage observed to any equipment be written on a piece of paper and
pinned to the board so that Hampo could see if anything needed repair.
Meeting closed 6.45pm
