We were absolutely thrilled to recently receive a donation from the Denzell Downs Community Fund of nearly £4000 which funded our new club vests and rescue boards!

These new vests and boards will be integral to providing a comprehensive and safe learning environment, ensuring the continued success and impact of our surf life-saving program for the local community’s children.

Denzell Downs Wind Farm is committed to providing a Community Benefit Fund for good causes local to the Wind Farm. This grant has monumental in transforming our Nippers training sessions.

Before the grant we had no training boards for the children, so the beach sessions were just swimming and running. Thanks to this grant we were able to get boards and develop the surf confidence element with the kids. With this grant, we were also able to get bright rash vests proudly displaying the club log. This has been a real improvement with regard to the kids safety, the children are easily identifiable in the water and we able to count them in and out (because the vest are numbered) after each session.

As a club run by volunteers, this funding has really been appreciated. The boards and the rash vest brought by this grant have a long lifetime, as the club expands they will be used by many kids for years going forward.

A huge thanks to Grantscape and the Denzell Downs Community Fund for helping us to continue saving lives!
