A Heartfelt Thank You to Our Supporters

This crucial initial stage wouldn’t have been possible without the amazing support of so many people and organisations who believe in our vision of a safer, stronger community.

To the local community, whose enthusiasm, encouragement and shared belief in beach safety have lifted this project from an idea to reality – thank you.

To the local businesses for your generous backing and support, including Stephens Scown Solicitors, Chris Menear of Cornwall Planning Group, Annette Pearson (who owns the top of Mawgan Porth beach and has, from day one, been very supportive of the club) and architect Ian Cross –  we are incredibly grateful to you all.

And a special thank you to the Parish Council for your ongoing support and for resolving no objection to the planning application and helping to clear the path forward for this vital community resource.

What This Means for Mawgan Porth

The clubhouse at Mawgan Porth will be more than just a building, it will be a community hub for:

  • Lifesaving training and skills development, helping more locals and visitors stay safe in and around the water.
  • Community gatherings and educational events that bring us together to celebrate, learn about water safety, and support one another.
  • Youth and volunteer involvement, giving young people and volunteers a place to connect, grow and contribute to beach safety.

We are so proud of how far the club has come-  from our very first training sessions to now being able to build something that will serve our community for years to come.

What’s Next?

With planning permission now in place, we’ll be turning our attention to fundraising and building plans. Our aim is to make this clubhouse a welcoming, resilient space that truly reflects the heart of Mawgan Porth – but we can’t do it without your continued support to make it happen.

Our fundraising campaign will be vital to help get this project off the ground. Keep an eye on our website and social channels for updates; we’ll be sharing more details on how you can get involved very soon!

Thank you once again to everyone who has stood with us on this journey so far. Together, we are making Mawgan Porth Beach safer and bringing even more life and community spirit to our shores.

What is the new clubhouse at Mawgan Porth for?

The clubhouse will provide a safe, permanent base for Mawgan Porth Surf Life Saving Club. It will support lifesaving training, equipment storage, water safety education, and community activity – all helping us keep Mawgan Porth beach safer for everyone who uses it.

Who will use the clubhouse?

The clubhouse will primarily be used by our volunteer surf lifesavers, nippers, youth members and coaches. It will also support community events, training sessions and educational activities focused on beach and water safety at Mawgan Porth beach.

Is the clubhouse just for club members?

While it will be a working base for the Surf Life Saving club, our aim is for the clubhouse to be a community asset. We want it to support local people, promote safety on the beach, and strengthen community involvement in lifesaving and education.

How will this make Mawgan Porth beach safer?

Having a permanent base on the beach allows us to train more lifesavers locally, store and access equipment quickly, run regular water safety and education sessions. It will build a stronger volunteer presence year-round
All of this directly contributes to improved beach safety for residents and visitors
